Sandi Accuosti is a flight attendant and photographer living in Nashville, Tennessee. Blessed to have much of the world as her subject matter, she combines her international layovers with her passion for photography, resulting in images that touch your emotions and lift your spirit.
“Long before I studied photography, I was always drawn to the black and white image. It didn’t take me long in school to discover that my passion drove me there time and time again. The majority of my work begins in black and white. Creating a high quality crisp black and white print takes a critical and experienced eye, which I have developed thanks to twenty plus years of printing in my darkroom and now digitally. Back in film days, I strongly preferred using infrared film because I found its effects to be intensely beautiful. Now I am using black and white infrared digital cameras for the same reason. When you look at some of my work, you may notice foliage that is more white than normal, or a dark sky in the middle of the day. Clouds become more pronounced and the image may have a crisp contrast or a soft mistiness, depending on the weather. These are the exciting effects of true infrared and cannot be fully duplicated with software filters. Although my digital editing is minimal, there are just times that color beckons me to be added to an image...a doorway or perhaps some flowers.
“I thank God for giving me the combination of photographic ability mixed with fabulous subject matter. He continuously points out interesting things to shoot, and thankfully some of those times I have a camera with me! I invite you to behold some of His glory – and allow Him to speak to you through my photographs.”
"He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclestiastes 3:11
